Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do Salads Etc. deliver to?

 

 

We deliver to most parts of Livonia, Northville, Novi, South Lyon, Wixom, Walled Lake, Farmington Hills, and Plymouth. Please contact us with your address to see if we deliver to your area. 

 

Is there a delivery fee?

 

 

Yes, there is a $3 delivery fee for home deliveries and tips are appreciated for our drivers. There is a $5 fee for the delivery of our party trays on the weekends.

 

Do I have to order every week?

 

 

No, you may order as many or as few times as you like.

 

What is the minimum dollar amount I need to order?

 

 

$22 for homes, $44 for businesses and schools.

 

When will you deliver my salad?

 

 

Each week the delivery route is different depending on the orders received, but typically all salads are delivered by lunchtime on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. 

 

How do I pay?

 

 

 

We accept cash or checks, written to "Salads Etc.."  If you are having a salad delivered to your home, you can place your preferred payment inside your cooler.

 

How do I tip?

We ask that you consider tipping our drivers as you would a server in a restaurant. Their service includes arriving at our kitchen at 4:30 a.m., preparing your salads, and incurring the costs of driving and delivering your salads. As in a restaurant, gratuities are very much appreciated, and an important part of their total compensation!

What size cooler do I need?

 

 

Please provide a cooler large enough to hold our family size salad pan, which is approximately 11x13x3 inches.  Coolers should be placed outside by 8:30 a.m.

 

Do I need ice packs in the cooler?

 

 

Yes, especially during the hot summer months.  Our salads stay freshest when kept cool.  As required by the health department, we are unable to deliver a salad without an iced cooler.

 

Are your salads and dressings gluten-free?

 

 

Yes, all salads and dressings are homemade and gluten-free.  Any ingredient that is not gluten-free (such as croutons) is bagged on the side. We are very careful when buying ingredients for dressings to ensure they are gluten-free.  For example, we only use a gluten-free soy sauce in our oriental dressing.  

 

Do you do special orders?

 

 

Yes, only for meat, dairy or nut requests.

 

Do you do substitutions?

 

 

Yes, we can substitute cheeses. We will substitute cheddar cheese for any soft cheese such as feta cheese or blue cheese. We can substitute a dressing if we have it on hand. 

 

Will you share your recipes?

 

 

Sorry, our recipes are top secret and the success of our business!

 

How long do the dressings last?

 

 

We do not use preservatives.  The health department recommends mayonnaise-based dressings only be saved 1 week.  The oil and vinaigrette based dressings should last for 2 weeks.

 

Is Salads Etc. regulated by the Health Department?

 

Yes, we have inspections and are certified through Serv Saf as food managers/handlers.

 

Do you provide nutritional information?

 

No, we are not dieticians or nutritionists and therefore do not have the knowledge to analyze and provide nutritional information.
